Jimmy Rollins on the Trading Block?
I know I promised you wouldn’t have to deal with me today, but this one is just too good to not pass along: In his most recent blog entry Giants beat writer Andrew Baggarly has this nugget:
Another Phillie name with local ties: Alameda’s Jimmy Rollins. There have been rumors that Philadelphia will listen to offers for the 2007 MVP. Even if true, the price would be prohibitively high. He’d look great in a Giants uniform, but I don’t see him being a realistic target for them.
I doubt there is much here - if true it would be the biggest story in the entry, and Baggarly buried it as a note. Still, rumors have to start somewhere and if it is true that the Phillies are listening to offers for Jimmy it is certainly worth noting.
If Ruben Amaro wants to put his personal stamp on the team this would be a big place to start.

If Ruben Amaro wants to put his head in a guillotine, trading Rollins would be a good place to start.
