Morning Rounds, October 9th
Game one went to the Good Guys, and the Phillies continued to play like a team that hates vacation.
Now, you know what they say: All requests for leave of absence on account of grandmother’s funeral, sore throat, housecleaning, lame back, turning of the ringer, headaches, brain storm, cousin’s wedding, general ailments or other legitimate excuses must be made out and handed to the boss not later than 10 a.m. on the morning of the game.

“It feels great, but you can’t get too caught up in this. We’ve got a lot of work to do.”- Pat Burrell
Three lines on their world:
- The Rays and the Red Sox load up for the LCS
- In a typically classy move, the Cowboys are letting Pacman Jones suit up in the midst of scandal
- It is officially hockey season and well all know what means: basketball season is near!
Three lines on ours:
- The Phillies took game one from the favorites
- and gear up for this afternoon’s game two
- Meanwhile, across the lot, the Sixers host the Knicks in preseason ball
Phillies, Birds, Sixers, Flyers and what everybody is talking about after the jump
