“It feels like a wasted season.” - David Wright
Three lines on their world:
- The Playoffs are (almost) all set
- The Metros are on the outside looking in
- and Brett Favre did something he’s never done before
Three lines on ours:
- The Phillies, rested and ready, head into October
- The Westbrook-less Eagles can’t hold off the Bears
- and Aaron McKie is back
Phillies, Birds, Sixers, Flyers and what everybody is talking about after the jump

EAGLES
The Eagles were without their best offensive player, on the road, in a trap game, and should have won. I know the message boarders are practically crawling over themselves to assign blame for this one, but this loss really isn’t the end of the world.
Paul Domowitch tries to point out that Andy Reid doesn’t trust Correll Buckhalter’s ability to win him a ballgame, which might be an interesting point, if the main reason the Birds lost wasn’t Andy Reid’s overconfidence in Correll Buckhalter’s ability to win him a ballgame. Sure, this one was obviously written in-game and turned out to be a casualty of a night game deadline, but wow. SKIP
Rich Hofmann says that the Birds are a different team without all-world tailback Brian Westbrook, which is kinda like pointing out that chess is harder without your queens, or that The Police aren’t the same band without that Sting guy. SKIP

Speaking of Aaron McKie, where is George Lynch these days?
So does this mean that we can trade Aaron for a yet to be named Memphis Grizzly this year? I vote Kyle Lowry.
Oh, and welcome back Aaron!
Man “The Double Play” was sweet! That game was too much drama for us rats.
Hey Complex - in ‘07 the Phil’s playoffs turned out to be a SKIP - here’s believin ‘08 brings us a READ.
