Your Friday Afternoon Procrastination Guidebook
Because I’ve been intrigued by so much that is going on in the non-Philly sports world, I’m presenting you with the pre-weekend non-local links, which I think I’m going to make a weekly feature (and hopefully come up with a better tagline). I know Simmons catches a lot of flak from the blogosphere, but when he’s on he can be great, and when he created the “Tyson Zone” he was totally on. I bring this up because I just read THIS HEADLINE headline and didn’t blink an eye.
Carlos Quentin is about to be the AL MVP, so it’s probably about time that we try and figure out just who the hell he is. Jeff Passan takes a look.

If it turns that is true I’m going to have to think all weekend about guys we thought just were goofy and loveable until they made one you know they couldn’t come back from and it all clicked. Their “oh snap! that guy may be legitimately, certifably insane” moment, if you will. Off the top of my head Ricky Williams topping all the early career craziness (like THIS, or when he wouldn’t take his helmut off during interviews) with leaving the league; or when the late Bison Dele stopped being quirkly and got lost at sea.
